Fortsatt hög väktarnärvaro på Campus Örebro/Continued increased security presence on Campus Örebro

Continued increased security presence on Campus Örebro

The increased security presence on Campus Örebro in the evenings and at night, stepped up as a result of the recent attacks that have taken place in Örebro.

If you as a student or a member of staff on campus do not feel safe in the evening or at night you can request support from a security guard. If so, contact:

In a short time there have been several unprovoked attacks and cases of assault which the police believe may be linked. Over the weekend, there was an attempt at another attack. The victim got away unscathed.

- This is serious. In order to increase security for students and staff, the stepped-up presence of security guards on campus will continue and we are collaborating with other organisations in our community. We are also supporting the voluntary night patrols initiated by Örebro Student Union, says Erik Nilsson, head of security at Örebro University.

In a previous interview, Mats Nylén, head of communication at the Police Department in Örebro, said:

- What is most effective is really to be careful. If you do not feel safe, then go with friends, look out for each other and do not walk or cycle alone in locations where you do not feel safe.
