The academic year in Sweden is divided into two semesters. The autumn semester begins at the end of August and lasts until mid-January, with a short break at the end of December. The spring semester runs from mid-January to the beginning of June. Full-time studies correspond approximately to a 40-hour work week. Students normally study one course at a time.
It should be noted that entry to a Master's degree programme at Örebro University does not automatically provide entry to a Ph.D. programme at the university.
