Jenny Ewen is from Karlstad, Sweden and she has just started the first semester of the two years master program in Sports Physiology and Medicine. She has been studying in Örebro for about three years.

- I have always been interested in sports. I did practice short distance sprint few years ago, but now my passion is athletic fitness. I have studied physiology and sport sciences at Örebro University and obtained a bachelor’s degree. I am also involved in some teaching in the sports sciences unit at Örebro University.

Jenny likes her life in Örebro.

- I feel good here because Örebro is an alive big city with a “small city feeling”. There are many transportations connections making it easy to travel by train or bus to other big cities like Stockholm, Gothenburg and Oslo or abroad from Örebro airports or other airports nearby Örebro.

Why the master program in Sports Physiology and Medicine? What are your first impressions? Would you recommend future students to apply for the program?

- I wanted to study at the master level because I am interested in research in sport physiology and I am thinking about going on with PhD studies after the master.  I chose this program because Örebro was the only university in Sweden to offer such a master program. Another reason was that I have studied here before and I like this university.

- So far, what I like in the program is that we learn to become more independent in our work. We also get the opportunity to be updated in several research topics. It’s then easier to choose an area you would like to read more about and get deeper knowledge.  I also find that the master program is quite intense but absolutely bearable. I feel too that I have improved both my communication skills and my english level.

- I would recommend to future master students to choose this program if they are interested in sport sciences.

What are your plans for the future?

- I would like to do a PhD.
