Welcome to the CAD technology page at Örebro University. The area of Computer Aided Design (CAD), incorporates methods and software design to accomplish generation of numerical models of 3-dimensional (3D), e.g., mechanical parts.

The so called CAD-model is the basis for product development, automated manufacturing processes, product information and simulations.

Our research is focused on (3D) measuring technology and automatic Geometric Reverse Engineering (GRE) of known  and unknown objects.

GRE is understood as the process to, generate a CAD-model from a real physical object by means of a measuring device and data processing. It is of special interest for us to integrate the 3D measuring devices (Laser profile scanner and Industrial robot) with the GRE-process (CAD Software).

The CAD-team belongs to the Modeling and Simulation Research Center at Campus Alfred Nobel in Karlskoga.
