Course content

The course aims to support doctoral students in developing their abilities as future researchers to participate in the exchange of knowledge and the dialogue that is an important component of the scientific community.

The course consists of active participation in seminars as a reviewer and as an active audience, as well as reflections on one's own performance.

Course information

The course consists of three components:

  1. Active participation in a seminar dealing with a manuscript or research plan. Active participation means that the doctoral student has read the material to be discussed together with relevant references and participates in the discussion with questions and/or points of view.
  2. As an appointed reviewer, lead the discussion around a manuscript or research plan.
  3. Submission of a written report in which the doctoral student summarizes the above seminars and reflects on his/her own contribution.

Reviewers at a seminar dealing with a manuscript are appointed in direct consultation with the person whose manuscript is to be reviewed.

Information about upcoming opportunities to be appointed as a doctoral student representative at the admissions seminar will be conveyed via email. In case of great interest in participating, preference is given to the doctoral student who has the shortest time left for the defense.
