Research areas

Electronic Government (eGovernment); focusing on providing new knowledge about the nature and importance of different promoting and inhibiting factors, way of overcoming obstacles, and understanding how to use ICT for realizing benefits from ICT use in government. To understand how convergence can be achieved within government organizations.

Enterprise Architecture (EA); focusing on how to inorporate EA into government organization to allow for decision makers to acquire a holistic view of the processes, systems, information and technologies in the organization and to allow them to optimize the work to achieve the organization strategy and current objectives; to succeed with their eGovernment initiatives. To help government organization to understand how ICT can be used to support the organizations work towards achieveing stadardization, synchronous, and convergent processes (i,e. between different departments, projects etc.) to ensure that the visions, goals and benefits can be achieved in due manner.

Andreas is also invloved with DEMO-net wich is a Network of Excellence funded under the European Commission's sixth framework programme: Information Society Technologies IST (FP6-2004-27219), as well as a SPIDER (The Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) sponsored project called Mobile Phone based Agricultural Market Information Systems (AMIS) focused on providing better functioning local agricultural markets and in particular supporting small farmers in rural Bangladesh.
