New employee at ORU
If you’re moving to Sweden, here are some practical matters we’d recommend that you take care of as soon as possible to make for a smooth trip.
Don’t miss:
- Depending on what country you’re travelling from and whether it’s a member of the EU or not, different rules apply for a visa, residence permits, and work permits. Contact to get assistance.
- If you’re staying here for more than a year, visit Skatteverket (The Tax Agency) to be registered in the Swedish population register upon arrival. Once you’re registered, you’ll receive a Swedish personal identity number. More information on the Swedish Tax Agency website.
- Contact Försäkringskassan (The Social Insurance Agency) upon arrival to register for social insurance in Sweden. If you’re insured in Sweden, you may be eligible for different benefits. More information about social insurance is found on the Social Insurance Agency website
