About Anita Hurtig-Wennlöf

Anita Hurtig-Wennlöf is a registered biomedical laboratory scientist with specialization in clinical physiology. The doctoral exam was obtained from the Karolinska Institute with the thesis Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Children (2005). She is associated professor in Medical Science with specialization in Medicine at Örebro University.

Lecturing

Lecturing activities are manily related to students involved in the biomedical laboratory science educational programme with specialization in physiology, but also related to students in advanced and doctoral programmes.

Research

The research activities have continued within the field of risk factors for cardiovascular disease with special reference to the role of physical activity in the reduction of risk for future diseases. Currently, she is responsible for the research project Lifestyle, Biomarkers and Atherosclerosis (the LBA Study), financed by the AFA Insurance Company. In the LBA Study, young volunteers donate blood samples and participate in ultrasound exams of blood vessels and assessment of physical activity etc.
