Research subject

IT has entered into the school and teaching. The effects of this can be both positive as well as negative, it depends on the technology used and the way in which work and teaching methods change. An example of our research is a project on computer use in primary schools where we studied pedagogical development, e.g. new methods. Examples of newly developed methods are "reading by writing" which one uses technology to start focusing on letters, words and sentences and postpone the forming of letters with pen for later until both motorical skills are developed and the child already commands reading and writing. This can include both individual and social processes. It can also be about the organization, that is, how to organize and implement development or change.

This group runs a multidisciplinary PhD-school named Technology Mediated Knowledge Processes (TKP) in cooperation with Dalarna University.
