In the research environment LaRS we study how text, speech, images and other modes of communication function in society, and in its institutions and organizations. The environment serves as a common arena for humanities researchers with a social perspective on language and communication. Global perspectives permeate the environment, and we cooperate with countries such as South Africa, the United States, Germany and the Seychelles.
More precisely, we are about 20 researchers and research students from the three research groups Swedish language, Rhetoric and English. Externally funded and international research projects in the areas of text and governance of organizations, languages and stereotypes, multimodality, and crisis and research communication define the environment. Languages in relation to gender, education and power are other areas of interest, as well as action research conducted in schools and other institutions.
