Research Subject

Natural disasters cause many deaths, injuries and great suffering around the world. The context of a natural disaster often includes severly damaged infrastructure and public services, as well as a large number of people in need of support. In these situations, targeted interventions are needed to support survival and recovery in both physical and psychosocial contexts. In the project we examine people's immediate needs and the mechanisms of recovery by using novel interventions, such as disaster radio. Health professionals' experiences and needs, and methods for the evaluation of disaster response interventions are also being studied.
