A new educational materials have been developed by researchers at six university in Europe (including the University of Örebro) with the aim to strengthen children and give them the tools to meet and deal with difficult situations, i.e. strengthen children's resilience. Resilience is a concept that describes how well an individual is at managing crises, change and stress - without being broken down by them.

The material will now be tested through an implementation and effectiveness study with randomized and controlled pre- and post-measurements. Children aged 7-12 years in schools and children's groups in civil society organizations and groups in social service areas will participate. The program also involves parents taking part in the work to reinforce children’s protective factors. The study will answer the question of what importance the RESCUR program has for children’s development and mental health.
