Policy makers call for new and improved statistical measures, aimed at filling the gap between standard macroeconomic statistics that sometimes are used as proxies of people's welfare and indicators that have a more direct bearing on people's life, such as well-being. These new measures require focus on both outcomes and inputs; especially people’s health stock, consumption, norms and behaviour over life course and the government and the society’s responsibility for effective and sustainable interventions for all citizens. All these suggest that the traditional toolbox of evaluators of interventions should be updated.
