Support for the establishment of a national centre for research and education in promotion and prevention

The aim of this research has been to create: (I) understanding of the everyday life environments that are promoting or risky for adolescents; understanding of the problems facing young girls; understanding of the life situation for immigrant adolescents; and understanding of measures (preventive and promotive) that can reduce adolescent problems; (II) deeper knowledge for the development of public health and determinants; development of safe and secure neighbourhoods; physical activity for children and youths; the voluntary organisations' alcohol and drug preventive work; and (III) understanding of the relation between impaired hearing and difficulties in sleeping, and the psychological treatment of these problems.
