Research subject

We try to understand why people are inactive and/or eat unhealthy food. And we are researching how different interventions can improve metabolic health. Using various techniques, we study how important organs such as the brain, liver and intestine are affected by obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Research aims
Changing habits and lifestyles is what our research is trying to encourage. We have unique facilities for studying human metabolism which enable us to carry out translational research aimed at understanding the development of obesity and metabolic diseases.
We study human physiology and develop intervention programs and implement them in such a way that they are sustained over time. Examples are prevention and intervention programs via the endoscopy unit, via the Obesity Unit and via the internet.
