Music Performance, Classical Music - Interpretation I, Second Cycle, 30 Credits

This high-level performance course gives you the opportunity to develop your skills both as instrumentalist/singer and chamber musician. The studies are largely designed individually with the guidance of internationally renowned teachers.

Course content:
• Main instrument/voice
• Chamber music
• Monthly concerts, solo and chamber music
• Rehearsing with pianist
• Making a recording of professional quality
• Stage presence and artistic communication
• Chamber music seminars focusing on Swedish music

We accept Swedish and international students on all traditional orchestral instruments * as well as saxophone, piano, guitar and vocals.
* percussion only with a focus on marimba and vibraphone

With its dual focus on instrumental/vocal skills and ensemble playing, this course helps you to develop into a more complete musician. The individually adapted content and the generous amount of lessons with our experienced teachers give you maximum opportunities to reach your artistic goals. If you are learning new repertoire you can try it out in one of our many public concerts.

If you are preparing for an audition you can fine-tune the details with your teacher and practise playing your program in mock auditions. For chamber music we welcome already established ensembles as well as individual students, who will get to play a varied repertoire in different constellations, sometimes joined by one of our teachers. You will be invited to make a recording of professional quality and learn more about the recording process. The course offers ample possibilities, and to get the most out of your studies you need to be prepared to work independently with a clear idea of what you want to achieve.

At the School of Music, Theatre and Art at Örebro University you have access to a number of well-equipped rooms for practise and rehearsals. The concerts are played in the school's coveted concert hall with a Steinway concert grand piano and professional technicians for sound and lighting. The School of Music, Theatre and Art is a place where it´s easy to connect with people from different fields of music and come together for creative collaborations. Should you choose not to live in Örebro, we make it possible to commute by scheduling all group lessons on Fridays and by giving you the freedom to plan individual tuition and chamber music together with your teachers and fellow musicians.
