Course Syllabus

The course is part of the courses offered within the Swedish Institute for Disability Research (SIDR) doctoral studies and is compulsory for doctoral and licentiate admitted at SIDR.

Course main content

  • Humanism, human rights and the rights of persons with disabilities.
  • Ethics and research ethics.
  • Disability research as interdisciplinary science.
  • Theories and perspectives of relevance for interdisciplinary disability research.

Teaching formats

Literature studies, lectures, seminars and oral and written presentations. The course is based on the participants' active participation in seminars.

Teaching is mainly in English, but lectures in Swedish may occur.
