Kvalitativa metoder samt tillämpning av intervju/observationsmetodik, 7,5 högskolepoäng
The course provide the doctoral students with knowledge of different qualitative methods, their scientific and philosophical ground and how credibility//trustworthiness in qualitative research are met. It includes knowledge of how data collection and analysis of qualitative data can be carried out and its usefulness, mainly in the field of medical and health science research. The doctoral students apply one of the qualitative methods within their own area. Practical application of a qualitative method is a separate block in the course in which the doctoral student carry out a data collection based on the selected method. Establishment of purpose and research questions, selection, data collection, transcription, data analysis and writing of the results is carried out within the course.
The course consists of two parts; "Qualitative methods, 4 credits", and "Application of interviewing/observation in data collection, 3,5 credits".
Teaching within "Qualitative methods" will be week 7 (14/2, 15/2), week 9 (2/3, 3/3), week 13 examination (27/3), rest of the time for your own work.
Within "Application of interviewing/observation in data collection" work on your own will be done during week 14-19, week 20 examination (16/5).
If less than 10 applicants, the course will be cancelled.
To gain access to the course and complete the examinations included in the course, the applicant must be admitted to doctoral education at Örebro University. Applicants enrolled at another university can participate in availability.
