EU/EEA and Swiss Citizens

If you have citizenship from any country in the EU or EEA (including Sweden) - or you are a Swiss citizen - you are exempt from tuition and application fees. You will need to prove your citizenship and exemption by submitting the correct documents to UniversityAdmissions.

More information about this can be found here:

Criteria for Fee Exemption

Application Fee

An application fee of 900 SEK (Swedish kronor) must be received by the UniversityAdmissions deadline - set each application window - in order for your application to be processed.

Any payments received after the deadline will result in your application status being changed to late. Late applications are only processed at the discretion of each university, if there are places available.

The application fee covers the costs of assessing your application, and cannot be waived under any circumstances. Anyone that is required to pay the application fee will also likely have to pay tuition fees - please consider your financial circumstances before submitting an application.

More information about the application fee can be found here:

Paying your application fee - UniversityAdmissions

Tuition fee

Universities and other higher education institutions set their own tuition fees. Tuition fees cover the full cost of studies. Therefore, fee levels may vary depending on the type and content of the course or programme.

For more information about the general criteria regarding who is required to pay a tuition fee and exemptions to this general rule, visit universityadmissions.se.

Tuition fees at Örebro University

Tuition fees are specified on each programme webpage. Tuition fees do not cover costs for books, course material, accommodation or cost of living.

Following the admission decision, the student will be provided with payment instructions. Information are then sent prior to each semester by email. Tuition fees must be paid in advance and prior to beginning studies.

If an admitted student has been awarded a scholarship towards the tuition fee, the fee shall be reduced by the amount corresponding to the scholarship.

Once the tuition fee for the first semester has been paid, the student may apply for a residence permit through the Swedish Migration Agency. Örebro University will automatically notify the Swedish Migration Agency when admitted students have paid the tuition fee.
