Föreläsning: Windows into the Mind - Brain-Body Interactions

FAMN gästas i höst av den finländska dansaren och hjärnforskaren Hanna Poikonen som har stor kunskap om vad som händer i hjärnan i olika situationer. Tillsammans med Mussie Msghina från Örebro universitet föreläser hon om hur man kan mäta och förstå hjärnans aktivitet.

Program:

13:00-13.45 Dance on Cortex - Understanding the Brain in Movement, Creativity and Expertise

Hanna Poikonen will present the study setting and results of her PhD research and tell about the postdoc research data collection. She will talk about the EEG method in movement studies and the possibilities to measure EEG and fNIRS simultaneously.

13.45-14.30 Brain imaging with fNIRS: applications, advantages and disadvantages

Mussie Msghina will talk about their results related to cognitive control and emotional processing measured by both fMRI and fNIRS. He'll also present the fNIRS method more in detail and the advantages of the method in movement studies and in studying clinical populations such as patients suffering from schizophrenia.
