The research centre AASS arranges a seminar with Martin Cooney, Halmstad University.
Abstract
In this seminar I will describe some work conducted recently at Halmstad University, rebro University's partner on the Sidus AIR project, with the aim of possibly building some new bridges and facilitating collaboration. First I will briefly introduce my interest (social robotics), my group, and some of the resources we have available. Next I will describe some knowledge we have obtained in working with topics such as medicine adherence monitoring, emotional art, and playfulness. In particular some questions touched upon will include:
Can a robot infer some recent events without directly observing them? How can a robot's motions convey various emotions?
Speaker's Bio
Martin Cooney received a Ph.D. degree in systems innovation, engineering science, from Osaka University, Japan, in 2014; from 2008 to 2014, he was also an intern researcher at Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR), Kyoto.
Since 2014, he has been a researcher at the Intelligent Systems Lab at Halmstad University, Sweden, and part of the health tech and intelligent home groups; recently, from May to June, 2017, he was also a visiting researcher at Karde in Oslo, Norway. His interest is sensing and actuation strategies for robots intended to support well-being in interacting persons.
