Om Stephan Axer
In 2015, Dr. H. Buchwald published an article entitled “Revisional metabolic/bariatric surgery: a moral obligation”. My research work focuses on these procedures as "not to perform revisional surgery is a denial of the precepts of our discipline and an abandonment of the underprivileged population.” Bariatric surgery has to be purposeful. Therapy failure must not lead to denial, but rather prompt an evaluation of alternative therapeutic strategies, including revisional bariatric surgery.
