Doctoral students can now register for the course Academic Writing I

A table with a laptop a glass of water and a note book.

Academic Writing I is a course for doctoral students who want to hone their English writing skills.

The course is given by the Academic Writing Centre at Örebro University Library.

Participants will gain knowledge of academic writing in English through the analysis and discussion of stylistic and rhetorical patterns of different types of published texts. The emphasis is on improving individual writing skills, and participants will work on their own drafts throughout. You should therefore have a manuscript to work on during the course.

The course focuses on structure and coherence in academic writing. Over the six sessions, we will discuss and try out different writing processes and strategies, and you will also give response on drafts written by other participants.

The first session is on 11 December. The course is fully booked!

The course will be offered again in the spring semester of 2020.
