The Main Library

The Main Library at Campus Örebro is a two-storey building and has many individual study spots, student computer workstations, and group study rooms. The library holds two copies of all obligatory course books used at the university. There is also a reference copy that can be taken out on day loan.

Group study rooms

If you have group assignment or if you want to sit and discuss with your fellow students, there are several group rooms to book via Kronox.

There are several open spaces for individual studies on the second floor.

U1191 is a class room that invites active participation and promotes collaboration and interactivity.

Study spaces in the library

The library is a popular place for students who want to sit and study. There are several open spaces for individual studies as well as rooms to book for group work and discussions. Please be considerate and keep noise to a minimum.

Newspaper Database

A computer with full access to the database Swedish newspapers is available in room U1165 and can be booked via Kronox.

The Reading and writing studio

The computers in the Reading and writing studio, located in Lyktan Study Support Centre are equipped with programs for students with reading and writing difficulties.

Lockers

If you are a student you may borrow one of the lockers at the Main Library on level 2 to store any material that you are using for your studies. Reference books, journals or books that you have not checked out may however not be kept in the lockers. Go to the help desk if you want to borrow a locker.

Food

A cup of coffee, fruit or candy is OK to eat inside the library. But remember to clear away your rubbish.

About the building

The building is approximately 9,000 square meters. It was completed in June 1996 after 15 months construction.

The library building was constructed by Uhlin & Malm Arkitektkontor AB with design by Julianna Farago and interior design by Ulf Löfgren. Per-Åke Peterson was managing the project for Akademiska Hus.
