Terms of use for e-resources

Örebro University Library holds numerous license agreements with publishers and providers of electronic resources (digital journals, books, and databases). These agreements define how the resources may be used.

The information below is general and provided here for guidance purposes. Variations may occur. Full license terms are available in the respective agreements.

Permitted use

  • You may download and print individual articles, chapters, or short sections for personal use.
  • For instructors, it is often permitted to include excerpts from books and articles in course compendiums for teaching at Örebro University. This applies to both printed and electronic compendiums as well as materials on learning platforms.
  • As a researcher, you may generally share individual copies of articles, chapters, or short sections with researchers at other institutions.
  • Libraries may supply copies of individual articles, chapters, or short sections to other libraries. This usually applies only to publicly funded libraries within Sweden.

Prohibited use

It is not permitted to:

  • Use the material for any commercial purpose.
  • Print or download entire journal issues.
  • Systematically download or print large amounts of material.
  • Distribute copyrighted material.

Where the University Library has entered into an agreement with a provider, the terms of that agreement take precedence over the so-called "Högskoleavtalet" (Higher Education Agreement) with Bonus Copyright Access.
