Apply for a library card

You who are applying for a library card are:

Student at Örebro University

As student at Örebro University, your University Card works as your library card. 
The University Card can be collected at Info Centre in Långhuset on Campus Örebro, or at any of our libraries. 

Once you have registered on your course, you need to activate your University Card as a library card in Studenttjänster

Distance student at Örebro University

As student at Örebro University, your University Card works as your library card. Your University card can be ordered in connection with the course registration or you can fill out the Application for University Card for distance students. 

When you have received your University Card, you need to activate it as a library card in Studenttjänster.

Your password must:

  • contain between 8 and 64 characters
  • contain different types of characters (numbers, lowercase letters, UPPERCASE LETTERS and special characters)
  • contain 8 unique characters

You may well select a password containing more than 12 characters. The password must then contain at least 2 types of characters, for example BaaBaaBlackSheep (Note! Do not use this particular password as it is being used as an example).

If you opt for a password shorter than 13 characters, it must contain at least 3 types of characters, for example El3ph4nt! (Note! Do not use this particular password as it is being used as an example).

The following characters are permitted:

  • A – Z
  • a – z
  • 0 – 9
  • Special characters: ! # $ % & ’ ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~ and space

Your password should NOT:

  • be identical or similar to your last name.
  • be linked to personal data such as your name, personal identity number or telephone number.
  • be made up of a common combination of characters.
  • consist of only one single word.

The general public

Your password must:

Anyone over the age of 18 can apply for a library card upon presentation of valid identification. The library card is a personal document of value and only you yourself are allowed to use it. The library sends all messages via email.

If you want to borrow books before the beginning of the term, you can apply for a library card for the general public. The library card will after course registration be replaced with the university card.
