Login to e-resources
Students and staff at Örebro University have access to the library’s licensed electronic resources both on campus and from home.
On campus, you can access e-resources by connecting to the Eduroam wireless network or using desktop computers on the university network. In some cases, you may also need to log in with your ORU account when using certain resources, such as databases.
Databases
Find the database you’re looking for through the library’s database list. If a login window appears when you click a link to a licensed database, sign in with your ORU account.
Some databases are not available off campus. This will be specified in the database description.
E-books, journals and articles
The easiest way to access e-books, journals, and articles is by searching in the library’s discovery service, Primo, from the library homepage. If a login window appears when you click a link in the search results, sign in with your ORU account.
Alternative ways of logging in
Direct login on the publisher platform
You can use your ORU account to log in on multiple publisher platforms. It might look a bit different depending on the platform, but usually says something like “Log in via your institution”. Next, search for Örebro University and enter your ORU credentials. If you are required to choose an identity federation, Örebro University is part of the SWAM ID federation.
Browser extension LibKey Nomad
LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that indicates when full text is available for articles the library subscribes to or that are open access.
Install the extension in your browser, and select “Örebro universitetsbibliotek” as organisation. If prompted, log in with your username and password.
VPN (employees only)
If you are connected through VPN the IP-address of the University will be recognized automatically. In most cases, you will not have to use your ORU account to access the licensed resources. Instructions are available on Inforum.
Google Scholar
If you use Google Scholar to search for articles, you can continue doing so off campus. If you have searched on campus, identification is stored in your browser for 30 days, allowing access to licensed resources without logging in.
Note: Some providers do not support this feature, so automatic access may not work in all cases.
For those who are not students or employees at Örebro University
If you are not a student or staff member, you cannot access licensed e-resources from home. To use the library’s e-resources, visit one of our libraries and use the library computers.
Open access resources are however available to everyone—see, for example, the subject category for freely available databases in the library’s database list.
For employees of Region Örebro County, please refer to the Medical e-Library. To access university resources, use the computers at the Medical Library on the USÖ campus. If you are employed by both organizations, you have access to both sets of electronic resources using your respective login credentials.
