Using SciFree, research staff can easily check if a journal is included in any of the University's publisher agreements, where open access charges are prepaid or discounted.

Most of the journals found in SciFree are included in prepaid agreements, which means that the entire cost for open access publishing is settled through the University's agreement with the publisher.

In SciFree search results, journals within a prepaid agreement have a grey icon with the text "This is paid in full by the Library". Journals within a discounted agreement have a yellow icon with the text "There is a discount on the open access charge".

There are variations between the publisher agreements. Details about each agreement, as well as instructions for authors, are available.

If the journal you are publishing in is not covered by any prepaid agreement, you can apply for financial support for open access publishing.
