PAN Sweden Steering Group Meeting – Collaboration Driving Development Forward

Recently, all partners within PAN Sweden gathered for the first steering group meeting of the year, held at RISE in Gothenburg. The day focused on research, knowledge transfer, and strategic development, with the shared goal of strengthening and further advancing the role of the centre moving forward.
The meeting began with an introduction from the Director of PAN Sweden, followed by presentations of results from work packages WP1–WP5. These presentations provided a broad overview of the work carried out and laid the foundation for constructive discussions on the next steps.
A central part of the day was devoted to strategic discussions on how PAN Sweden can continue to develop within the framework of the remaining Formas funding. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of the centre as an enabling structure – a complement that makes it possible to bring together competencies and resources to address larger and more complex challenges than individual actors can manage on their own.
Coordination and collaboration were recurring themes throughout the meeting. By creating shared environments and coordinating functions, we can develop products and methods that not only strengthen individual projects but also contribute to valuable synergies and a broader competence base. This benefits all parties and enhances both quality and impact.
In the afternoon, discussions deepened around future collaboration – both within PAN Sweden and with other Formas centres, including newly established preparedness centres. The inclusion of new partners, outreach activities, and how to utilise the knowledge generated were also key topics.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Formas for the public funding that makes this initiative possible and enables long-term development, collaboration, and innovation.
The steering group meeting reaffirmed our shared ambition to continue building a strong platform for collaboration, where coordination, knowledge exchange, and strategic development create value – both for PAN Sweden and for society at large.
