We bring together academia, industry, and the public sector to drive knowledge, innovation, and sustainable development forward.
Researchers focus on increasing knowledge about plant-based proteins and dietary fibre—and how they affect everything from digestion and gut microbiota to metabolism, well-being, and long-term health.
New knowledge is also developed here that can be translated into new food products, improved processes, and attractive plant-based alternatives that meet what people actually want and enjoy.
Among other things, researchers are addressing the question:
How can plant-based proteins contribute to both improved health and a sustainable transition of our food system?
This important work is made possible through funding from Formas, a Swedish research council for sustainable development that supports the advancement of sustainable and competitive food systems in Sweden.
Research is conducted through collaboration between:
- Örebro University
- Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
- Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Life Sciences
- SLU Future Food
- Uppsala University
We recently created a trailer to offer a glimpse into our work.
The trailer can be used as a presentation of PAN Sweden in various contexts.
