Don't Forget Vitamins in Your Emergency Food Supply

remember vitamines.

Most of us think of canned goods, pasta, and maybe chocolate when stocking up our emergency supplies – but how often do we consider the health aspect?

n his latest column, Robert Brummer, physician and professor at Örebro University, reminds us that the food in an emergency stockpile shouldn't just satisfy hunger. It also needs to provide energy, strengthen the immune system, support children's growth, and help older adults maintain muscle strength.

Foods rich in fiber, protein, and healthy fats – such as beans, nuts, and fish – contribute to our health. Too much sugar, red meat, and empty calories, on the other hand, do less good for the body.
