The 2016 Future of Women's Artistic Gymnastics conference

The first ISCWAG conference was held in 2016 - The 2016 Future of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics conference. The conference brings together key scientific experts, whose sociological and pedagogical research documents how this sport is governed, practiced and experienced.

An international panel of scholars from Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Holland, New Zealand, Portugal and Sweden at the University of Gothenburg to present their knowledge to those working with and shaping this sport. Roundtable discussions connected scientists and practice stakeholders. The main objective of the conference was to discuss current issues and to identify future research needs, which the researchers intend to address in future reseach.

The conference was financed by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
