Course content
What role do forests, rivers, and wildlife play in shaping business strategies? This course dives into the fascinating relationship between natural ecosystems and the world of business. It’s designed for doctoral students across fields like finance, accounting, management, strategy, and industrial marketing who want to explore how ecological systems and business activities are increasingly intertwined.
We go beyond climate change to examine broader ecological issues—such as biodiversity, ecosystem services, and animal ethics—and how they influence everything from corporate governance to marketing. Through case studies, policy analysis, and strategic discussions, you’ll learn how nature is becoming a critical part of business decisions and relationships.
You’ll gain insights into emerging topics like biodiversity finance, ecojustice, and multispecies justice, and discover how global regulations, sustainability standards, and biodiversity strategies shape business responsibilities and opportunities. The course equips you with advanced tools to assess environmental and socio-economic risks and to integrate these perspectives into your own research.
By fostering cross-disciplinary thinking, this course prepares you to tackle regional sustainability challenges and contribute to Europe’s green transition. If you want to lead research that combines business expertise with ecological responsibility, this is your opportunity.
