Abubakr Omer
Abubakr Omer is a postdoctoral researcher in medical sciences with a background in both clinical medicine and biomedical research. He earned his medical degree (MBBS) and a master's in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, followed by a clinical doctorate (MD) in Clinical Immunology. After moving to Sweden, he completed his PhD in Biomedicine at Örebro University in 2025, where his research focused on developing novel peptide-based antiviral strategies.
In September 2025, he joined the NGBI research group at Örebro University. His current postdoctoral research investigates the effects of probiotics and prebiotics on hyperuricemia.
