Welcome to the School of Social Sciences and Media Studies

The department provides a diverse selection of programs and courses at both undergraduate and advanced levels. Most subjects also offer doctoral-level education. At the department, students are given good opportunities to gain international experience.

Research is conducted in various research environments, groups, and projects within the disciplines of political science, human geography, sociology, gender studies, and media and communication studies. This research covers topics such as consumption, environmental and sustainability issues, urban and regional planning, crisis and crisis communication, feminist studies of violence, and governance, policy, and public institutions.
