About Erik Berglund

Erik Berglund is a doctoral candidate in law with a specialization in criminal law. His research focuses on sexual violations in national criminal law from both a legal and gender perspective.

He holds a law degree from Uppsala University, where he has also worked as a research assistant in the MEIOR project. Additionally, he has been a project researcher in the FORCE project at the University of Turin.

Teaching
At Örebro University, he teaches criminal law at undergraduate and advanced levels in both the law and criminology programmes. He also supervises Master’s theses in criminal law.

Other Assignments (Completed and Ongoing)

  • Doctoral student representative in the Supervisory Committee Juridicum (2025–ongoing).
  • Doctoral student representative in the Faculty Board for Humanities and Social Sciences (2023–2024).
  • Co-authored Örebro University’s consultation response to SOU 2024:55 A Review of Chapter 23 of the Swedish Penal Code, together with Lecturer Minna Koskela.
  • Participated monthly in Länsradion during 2024, discussing criminal law issues.
