About Franziska Primus

Franziska Primus is a PhD student in Education at Örebro University since 2019. She has studied Educational Science at Freie Universität Berlin (BA, 2013) and Education Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (MA, 2016).

Franziska is working on her PhD thesis with the preliminary title UNESCO’s “Futures of Education”: The situatedness of and in futures in multilateral education policy discourses. With the project, she aims to gain a deeper understanding of how global education policies and recommendations are discursively (re)produced and situated. She does that by relating narratives and action to the actors’ imaginaries of the future. Hereby, she explores not only how the present decision making evolved from the past but also how ideas about the future affect the present.

Franziska is an externally funded but affiliated PhD student at the Graduate School “Applied History of Education” and a member of the Swedish Educational Research Association (SWERA) as well as of the German Educational Research Association (GERA). Furthermore, she is part of the research group Utbildning och demokrati [Education and democracy] at Örebro University and of the Local Organising Committee of ISCHE 42 in Örebro.

At Örebro University, Franziska teaches in the international program for visiting students and builds her experiences on teaching responsibilities in the teacher education program at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
