About Helena Edberg
Responsibilities
Helena Edberg works as a research advisor at the Grants Office. Helena primarily provides strategic research support, including with Prio Research (formerly Grants for Goals).
In addition, Helena works as a Research Developer within the HR department, focusing on leadership in research, research culture, and academic recruitment. As part of this role, she leads a Research Leadership Programme aimed at senior researchers who hold formal or informal leadership positions within research.
Background
Helena Edberg is a molecular biologist and got her PhD in pharmacology at the Department of Neuroscience, Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University in 2009.
Research
Helena's research focused on functional studies of the NPY system; from molecular pharmacological studies at the receptor/cell level to behavioral studies of the impact of endogenous appetite-suppressing hormones on appetite behavior in mammals. Additionally, the projects led to work on how the personal characteristics of experimental animals (e.g., stress sensitivity) affect both the design and results of pharmacological studies.
Assignments/Other
Helena is a member of the Editorial Board for the Swedish Research Council's online magazine Curie. She holds the Board Academy's certification for board assignments, has completed project management courses from Wenell Management AB, is certified in GDQ (IMGD), and has been an examiner for SIQ's Swedish Quality Award.
