About Mehdi Goodarzi

Mehdi Goodarzi is a senior lecturer in mechanical engineering. He obtained his PhD at Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, working at the intersection of mechanical engineering, theoretical materials science, and applied mathematics.

Prior to joining Örebro University in 2021, he spent several years in various industries taking on consulting, technical management, and engineering roles. During this time, he contributed to a number of projects within:

  • business intelligence back-end in financial services,
  • software design and implementation in industrial automation, material testing, process monitoring, and embedded systems,
  • quality management systems in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001,
  • applied metrology focusing on NDT instruments,
  • computational solid and fluid mechanics, and
  • process engineering.

Research

Mehdi’s current research interest resides mainly in mathematical modeling, data analysis, and computational prediction and optimization of thermomechanical response of materials with direct or indirect application in manufacturing processes.
