About Sandra Österlund
Sandra is a PhD student in Sociology at the Department of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences since 2023. Her research interest concerns the transition to a more sustainable society, and what can help us reduce our consumption while increasing well-being. In her dissertation work, Sandra has been interested in the phenomenon of Makerspaces, a type of open workshop for sharing tools and machines and exchanging knowledge, and wants to investigate what role these could play in a sustainable society, and in the participants' personal lives.
Sandra has previously worked as a research assistant in the Sociology department at Örebro University between 2020-2022. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Peace and Development Studies from Linnaeus University (2016), and a Master's degree in Sociology with a focus on Sustainable Development from Örebro University (2020).
