About Sofia Ask
Sofia Ask is a PhD student at the Department of Medical Sciences, Health and Caring Sciences, Örebro University. Sofia combines doctoral studies with clinical work as a physiotherapist at Prima Health Centre, Västerås. Sofia has extensive experience as a physiotherapist in primary care with specialist competence in Orthopedics and a higher degree in Mechanical Diagnostics and Therapy (MDT).
Research
Sofia's research and dissertation work is about implementation of neck-specific exercise with or without internet support. Previous research studies have shown good results of neck-specific exercise for people with long-lasting neck problems after a whiplash injury. Now the method needs to be implemented in primary care in Sweden.
Teaching
Sofia has participated in the education of neck-specific exercise in the project. She also participates as an assistant teacher in MDT educations for physiotherapists and gives introductory lectures in MDT for physiotherapy students at Uppsala and Mälardalen University. Sofia has previously worked as a lecturer at Mälardalen University at the Physiotherapy program.
