About Mr Subham Chakraborty

Mr Subham Chakraborty is a researcher at Örebro University. During his Master’s he worked in Industry in collaboration with a Network Company, named Vinayak Infosolutions. After earning his Master’s in 2012, Chakraborty worked as an assistant professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Mallabhum Institute of Technology, a Government-funded school in India, a part of the All India Council for Technical Education. Chakraborty worked there until July 2017 and was mostly involved in teaching and supervising students for their bachelor projects. With regards to research, Chakraborty was involved in Computer related various types of applications. From 2018 to June 2019 he worked at Innopolis University in Russia in the Computer Engineering Department. During this time in Russia, he assisted in various grant proposal writing and helped students with their projects and labs. In June 2018 Chakraborty joined at Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) as a researcher and worked there, in the department of Computer Science and Engineering, until December 2019. Chakraborty became a researcher at Örebro University in January 2020.

Chakraborty has a background in Computer Engineering Research. His interests include Network Security, Digital Forensics, Digital Image Processing, Statistics and Machine Learning, originating from working as Assistant Professor in India. During that tenure, he also developed an interest in Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Image Processing, Cloud Computing, IoRT (The Internet of Robotic Things) and AI. In the spirit of his inquisitive personality, he was curious about the Application of Machine Learning for Security applications, especially for Intrusion Detection Systems. Therefore, his Master’s thesis was based on Digital Image Processing. In addition, he is interested in Named Data Networking (NDN) and Blockchain. In the modern era, NDN is an interesting research topic to establish a new architecture of the internet. At present, he is working in digital twin which is a digital replica of a living or non-living physical entity. By bridging the physical and the virtual world, data is transmitted seamlessly allowing the virtual entity to exist simultaneously with the physical entity.
