Karin Hedström is the new deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Gävle.
She will step down from her role as dean of the Faculty of Business, Science and Technology (ENT) in Örebro after the summer.

The role of deputy vice-chancellor involves working closely with the vice-chancellor and acting as a deputy in university management. She will take up her post on 1 July, when the current deputy vice-chancellor's term ends. Karin Hedström has been appointed for a six-year term and plans to move to Gävle.

“As dean, Karin Hedström has played a significant role in the faculty’s positive development. We will miss her and congratulate the University of Gävle on an excellent recruitment,” says Åke Ingerman, vice-chancellor at Örebro University. The search for a new dean for ENT is already underway. Karin Hedström will continue as dean on a part-time basis for a period of time to ensure a smooth handover.
