More efficient training using AR: “AI can further improve the system”

This past autumn, Kopparbergs Brewery has tested a training method that uses augmented reality, AR. The next step is to add a layer of artificial intelligence, which will allow for individually-tailored training.

“The vision with Augmentor is to find a way in which we can enhance AR with a layer of AI. This means that the system can be adapted based on the needs of the user”, explains Amy Loutfi, professor and pro-vice-chancellor for Artificial Intelligence at Örebro University.

The AI.MEE project Augmentor is a collaboration between Örebro University, Alfred Nobel Science Park, the IT consulting company Nethouse and Kopparbergs Brewery. The objective is to reduce learning curves and increase safety for machine operators working at the brewery.

Adam Fallström, machine operator at Kopparbergs Brewery, is one of those who have tested the new technology.

“It’s fun and educational. It worked great the first time around. The future’s looking bright!” he says enthusiastically.
