The right to safe living conditions in old age

One goal for the Swedish elderly policy is that all care for older people should be permeated by security, however, little is known about how older people themselves view security especially during the evening and night time in ordinary housing. A pilot study has been conducted in elder care where home care staff has been followed in their work during evenings and nightshifts. Relevant theoretical literature and current research have been studied and five studies are planned for. Interviews will be conducted with older people, their families, staff and managers, participant observations will be conducted in homecare, avikelser related to security review and quality indicators for security will be worked out in a reference group. These quality indicators will in the next step be tested in an interactive mobile application.
