Course content

The overall main of the course is to teach the student how to critically evaluate and discuss biomedical research as well as learn more about specific subjects in biomedicine. The course will include both lectures where invited lecturers will discuss interesting trends in biomedicine as well as seminars in connection to the lectures to critically analyze papers on the subject.

Course information

The theme of the course in fall 2019  will be cancer, however, the aim of the course focuses on critical review of research in medicine and the course is therefore useful for students working outside this specific theme.

Autumn 2019:

Wednesday 18th of September, introduction at 14-16 (course participant).

Tuesday 8th of October, lecture (open for all) at 14-14.45, lecture hall C3:

Lecture: Karin Sundström, Karolinska institutet.

Titel: Epigenome-based risk prediction of cancer: focus on methylation.

The theme of the course given in year 2018 was microbiology. 


Admission requirements

To gain access to the course and complete the examinations included in the course, the applicant must be admitted to doctoral education in Medical Science at Örebro University.
