Course description

The course discusses research design, methods for data collection and analysis, as well as opportunities and limitations in relation to different methodological points of departure. Qualitative methods are discussed and analysed from power- and intersectional perspectives. The course consists of two parts: one joint introductory part (2.5 credits) and one specialization part (5 credits), with in-depth studies of ethnography, interviews, or text and discourse analysis. The student selects one of these specialisations.

Admission requirements

To gain access to the course and complete the examinations included in the course, the applicant must be admitted to a doctoral programme at Örebro University.

The applicant must have received passing grade in course(s) about qualitative methods, including 7.5 credits, on bachelor and/or master level, or in other ways gained corresponding knowledge.
