Course description
Research communication deals with research communication, with theoretical, planning and practical elements. The course consists of three courses á 2.5 credits each. In all parts, the doctoral student works on the basis of his or her own research material.
The first course, Research communication, researchers' role in society, 2.5 credits, deals with the role of research and the researcher in society. Here, the meaning of research communication and its significance for both public debate and the quality of research are discussed.
The second course, Planning and integrating research communication, 2.5 credits, deals with the planning and integration of communication in research activities. Here, communication is discussed as both information and co-creation with selected target groups.
The third course, Research communication in practice, 2.5 credits, consists of a series of practical, oral and nd written exercises (eg debate writing, blog), including presentation exercises.
The recommendation is to take all three coursers of 7.5 credits, but it's also possible to take on or two of the courses. The choice is made in the form for your application to the course/courses.
Admission requirements
To gain access to the course and complete the examinations included in the course, the applicant must be admitted to a doctoral programme at Örebro University. Priority is given to applicants with a smaller number of course credits left for the degree and to applicants who are judged to have a more immediate need for the course for their dissertation work.
