Development activities for university teachers
Interactions with colleagues is a prerequisite for further development of higher education teaching skills. We therefore offer various activities for anyone interested in learning more about and sharing experiences of professional development as a teacher at Örebro University.
Guidance in teaching and learning
Bring your questions about teaching and assessment, and discuss them with academic developers and teacher colleagues. We meet at https://oru-se.zoom.us/my/pedagogisk.utveckling on Mondays at 13:00–14:00 and Fridays 9:00–10:00 during the semester. No prior registration required.
Seminars
We organise three different types of seminars to stimulate development and research in teaching and learning in higher education. The seminars are open to all who are interested. They can be found in our calendar.
Professional development seminars
Our professional development seminars focus on educational development through the exchange of experiences with colleagues. They can also consist of an inspirational lecture on a topical theme.
Higher level seminars in teaching and learning in higher education
Our higher level seminars in teaching and learning in higher education are research seminars with invited speakers. We can also discuss a text that participants read prior to the seminar.
Text seminars in teaching and learning in higher education
Our text seminars in teaching and learning in higher education give you the opportunity to develop your texts on higher education pedagogy research through peer feedback. Seminar participants send their comments to the author in advance. During the seminar, the author leads our discussion on the text. The texts are sent to the participants a few weeks prior to the seminar.
Workshops
We offer needs-based workshops for teaching teams on a range of topics, including sustainable development in education, examination and assessment, active teaching, the role of space in learning, and AI in education.

Conferences
Annual higher education pedagogy conference
Every year, educational development projects carried out by teachers at Örebro University are presented at a conference.
NU conference
The NU conference is a national networking and development conference organised every two years. It is open to everyone involved in Swedish higher education. The main purpose of the conference is to stimulate educational development work by offering a meeting place for the dissemination of knowledge, dialogue and debate.
Research on higher education
The “Research on higher education” conference is held every two years. It presents national research on different aspects of higher education.
