About Lina Mrak

Lina Mrak is a doctoral student in Sport Sciences at Örebro University since May 2022. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and has approximately 20 years of experience working in preschool, primarily with the youngest children.

Lina earned her master’s degree in 2020 in Kindergarten Pedagogy and Early Childhood Studies (ages 0–3) from Østfold University College, Norway.

Research
Lina’s research interests focus on preschool education, with a particular emphasis on children under the age of three.

Her master’s thesis was a critical study entitled:  (M)alla barn- en kvalitativ studie om förskollärares handlingsutrymme för att uppträda som vittne till ett- och tvååringars kunskapande.

In Linas doctoral project, the focus is on the preschool’s mandate concerning movement.

Lina Mrak is part of the doctoral school SMOVE (Sustainable Movement Education), a collaboration between the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH), Örebro University, the University of Gothenburg, and Malmö University. Her dissertation work focuses on joy of movement in preschool.

Teaching
Lina teaches pedagogy, primarily in courses for prospective preschool teachers, at both Örebro University and Jönköping University.

Collaborations and Assignments
Lina is a member of the research group ReShape at Örebro University and the research group PER at Jönköping University.
